Snapped Behind The Lens

Who doesn’t love a good before and after? Let’s take it one step further and take a behind-the-lens version.
Admittedly 9 times out of 10, I get so immersed in capturing the moment that I forget about behind-the-scenes footage. But from a few screenshots of videos and some snaps in the past I managed to put together a few examples. I shoot primarily using natural light so it’s down to me, my cameras and some beautiful products.

Trutone Beauty
Product: Innovative Facial Sculpting face mask and roller.

The real BTS:
This was taken earlier this week for my first destination shoot in Sydney. It was an overcast day, and while we were waiting for the models/ content creators to arrive, I took the opportunity to capture some product imagery as a test – and surprisingly, it made the final cut!

Cimento Studio
Product & Service: Microcement & Terrazzo supplier.

The real BTS:
I had the chance to photograph some bathrooms featuring Cimento’s beautiful microcement. While there, I also captured shots of these gorgeous plinths. I prefer starting with the "easy" shots – like these well-lit, open areas – to get warmed up before tackling the more challenging aspects like the darker, smaller spaces.

Trutone Beauty
Product: Innovative Facial Sculpting face mask and roller.

The real BTS:
Our first shoot for Trutone! It was a 30C+ day and the studio really lived up to it’s name “Sunny Studio”. We had the gorgeous model Pearl and hair and makeup artist Alana help pull this together.

The Foundry
Product: 3D-printed ceramic vases.

The real BTS:
A week before Christmas in a gorgeous set of apartments - my last Melbourne shoot for 2023 and what a location it was! Shooting these stunning dining table centre pieces.

Styling and furniture: Coco Republic
Florals: The Palmier

Bare Beauty Studio
Service: Custom skincare and lash extensions.

The real BTS:
The weather wasn’t on our side that day; it was raining and gloomy. We were situated in Sandy's small studio room, relying solely on natural light. Since this shoot, Sandy has moved to a bigger, airy, and brighter studio. I can't wait to visit next time I'm back in NZ!

Tailor & Curate
Service: Interior Stylists.

The real BTS:
As usual the stylists at Tailor & Curate transformed another beautiful home. This space was particularly vibrant and bold which is unlike the usual SABI aesthetic. It presented a good challenge for us!

I have a giveaway coming up (stay tuned on Instagram) with a couple of fab businesses, and I was asked for behind-the-camera shots of myself for marketing purposes. I realised... I don’t have any! So, it's now on my to-do list to capture my own branding photos from behind the lens. For now I hope you’ve enjoyed these iPhone shots!
