Interior Design Concept: Our Living Room

I was fortunate to win Servini Studio’s annual Interior Design Giveaway, which offered the opportunity to have one room of our choice designed by the team. We opted for our living space, which also doubles as our kitchen and dining area.
Given my background in design, I understood the importance of providing ample detail, but I was truly amazed by the presentation they delivered within just a few weeks!

the Brief.

I curated a Pinterest board filled with inspiration for our living space. My brief was to create a modern, contemporary living area infused with natural Japandi elements. Our (ok… my) primary focus was on optimising functionality, especially considering our lack of a dedicated dining space for hosting while ensuring the living area was utilised to its fullest potential.

What I like about our current space:
+ The floor colour and simple white cabinetry.
+ Overall neutral colour scheme.
+ We love our coffee table (there are a lot of card games in the drawers).

Challenges:
+ There’s very little natural light, the sun doesn't reach this living space as it's located between apartments.
+ Being a rental we can't hang the TV on the wall or any heavy artwork.
+ No dining table to host our friends. Our very small balcony outside is also unsightly so I'd prefer to host indoors.

the Space.

Our townhouse living room is an open-plan layout, serving as both our kitchen and living space, with a supposed dining area. I was eager to have their professional opinion on how to create a cohesive look between our living and dining area in our small space.

The Results.

I shared my challenges along with my inspiration and what they came back to me with was fabulous!
Their comprehensive Interior Design Concept blew me away. It included mood boards for both the living and dining areas. But that's not all – they also provided a complete procurement list featuring suggested products, along with detailed floor plans and stunning renders to round off the presentation.

Thanks Mona and Servini Studio, for giving us a fresh perspective on our living space! Now to do some shopping!

Please note: I fully respect the importance of preserving the exclusivity of Servini Studio’s work. Not all details have been disclosed online. Their meticulous attention to detail truly sets them apart and is an integral aspect of the exceptional experience they offer.
