Day In The Life of a stylist & photographer

This one's for Mum and Dad, the non-Instagrammers who miss out on my daily stories. Plus, I'm curious about what everyone else is up to during their day! So here's a detailed dive into a day in the life of a stylist/ photographer/ content creator and overall Jill of all trades - blog post style.

PRE WORK
7.15am - 8.45am
- Woke up to my sleep cycle alarm
- Went for a morning walk and voice messaged my best friend then listened to a Rise & Conquer podcast episode
- Had a not-so-nutritious breakfast (Cheerios) then got ready for the day

MORNING WORK
8.45am - 10.15am
- Checked and replied to emails
- Managed Instagram notifications for 45 minutes on SABI and 3 client accounts
- Worked on design changes for a client's EDM on Klaviyo

ON LOCATION PHOTOSHOOT

10.15am - 2pm
- Picked up a GoGet for the 30-minute drive to the client's microcement install
- My job is made 10x easier when you have beautiful clients, locations to shoot at and great products to capture. No styling was needed today, my client had the most beautiful pieces already in situ.
- Snapped away and drove home

AFTERNOON
2pm - 5.50pm
- Went to the supermarket then had lunch and checked notifications
- Transferred RAW images to my hard drive
- I was way too eager to wait for the next day to look at the photos so I took a peek and culled through favourite photos for editing the next day
- Responded to email and Instagram pricing inquiries, organised a call and coffee catch-up
- Refined the morning's EDM design and sent for final review
- Jack made halloumi and steak tacos for dinner (demolished these before a photo)
- Quickly refreshed makeup for a networking event

EVENING
5.50pm - 10.30pm

- Ubered to a local wine bar to a Melbourne creatives and founders event hosted by Claire and Liza
- I had too much fun because I didn’t take a single photo or video!
- Got home by 10, showered and it took about an hour to wind down for the night

And as photographers say… that’s a wrap! Is it what you expected?
A sprinkle of visual media work, social media, emails, some photography and ending the day with a networking event. Every day is so different so if you enjoyed this let me know!
